Hive Building Day - 1st June 2024

YVBG is holding a Hive Building day for its members on Saturday 1st June 10-3pm 

Ben's shed will kindly provide us the space, tools and a few volunteers to help. 

If you'd like to volunteer to help some of our new members build their hives on the day, please let us know.

On the day you can build your boxes, bases and lids as well as wire your frames and embed your wax. Great opportunity for new beekeepers to build their hives ready for Spring!

Cost: $10 cash on the day

Morning tea provided (Bring your own lunch)

All participants are to bring all the materials they require to build the hives, lids, bases, etc. 

Suppliers have been contacted and have agreed to provide discounts on certain items.  Hive building kits usually include everything you need to build boxes and frames. So check you have eveything including nails, screws, eyelets, wire and glue. Suppliers are:

When contacting these suppliers please let them know that you will be attending the Workshop and ask for the discount when ordering your materials.  Ensure you order your materials well in advance of the Workshop to allow the suppliers time to put together your order.
